Welcome to the website of East-West East-West is honored to be selected as the contractor for the ambitious programme of implementing the launch of the electronic ticketing system for public transport in The Netherlands. On this website you will find information about various aspects of this programme in the Netherlands: What is it? How does it work? Who are involved? What does it look like? The Dutch e-ticketing solution is inspired by the Hong Kong public transport system. Since its inception in 1997, passengers travel the bus, subways, trains and ferries using one single smart card. This 3 minute video gives an impression of how travellers experience using e-ticketing in public transport. The realisation of an electronic ticketing system does not happen overnight.
